Local Road Rides

Looking for new places to ride your bike on the road?

Bikeway Road Ride- We've mapped out a route 35 miles long from the parking lot of our Wappingers Falls store. It consists of mainly rolling, scenic, back roads, with a few moderate climbs. You can park in our lot and get a map of the ride in the store.

Harlem Valley Rail Trail- This is a great new paved Rail Trail stretching just over 8 miles from Mechanic St., Amenia to Main St., Millerton, NY. There's also a 4 mile stretch from Ancram, NY going north, now open. No need to worry about motorized vehicles here! Just enjoy the fresh air, and the beautiful view.

Walkill Valey Rail Trail- One of the more popular Rail Trail conversions in the area consisting of flat, packed gravel terrain, this is a peaceful, easy ride. The trail is accessable just west of the Village of New Paltz on Route 299.

Some of the area's listed may have regulations or require a permit for biking. Allways check with the area before riding. You should allways wear a proper fitting helmet (New Yory State parks require it!) and bring plenty of water, an energy bar, a spare tube or patch kit, a pump, and a mini tool for trailside repairs. We have books and maps of many other rides available in the stores.
